For asset managers, consultants and pension funds

Don’t judge a company by its sector.

Whole sectors get excluded, and whole sectors get treated as safe. Both are assumptions. Technology holds companies with critical determinations and companies with none — so does energy, and so does every sector here. This shows the spread inside each sector and country: how many are clean, how many carry determinations, how many cross the exclusion bar. A mandate can then screen on what a company has actually done rather than on the label above it.

Our adverse regulators are US, UK and EU — competition, securities and anti-bribery authorities, plus US environmental and workplace-safety regulators. A country outside that reach will look emptier here than it is, and a low Coverage figure is the visible form of that. Global is the default for the same reason.
35 further countries (196 companies) fall below the 20-company floor and are not offered as their own view. They are counted in Global, not excluded from it — largest first: BEL (18), ESP (17), AUS (14), NOR (14), ISR (14), POL (14). 1 company carries no country at all and appears only in Global. The buckets above are how these 196 become visible: grouped, rather than split into slivers that each fall below the floor.
